4 Viewpoints in Arouca

Arouca is a northern town in the Porto Metropolitan Area, located in the Aveiro district, known for its beautiful landscapes and lush nature. There are several viewpoints that offer stunning panoramic views of the region.

If there is one place in Portugal where nature reveals itself with raw power yet remains serene, that place is Arouca.

The Feel Discovery has selected for you the most iconic viewpoints, where the horizon seems endless and every photograph tells a story of tranquility and wonder.

1. Senhora da Mó Viewpoint

It is located in the Serra da Freita mountain range, 8 km from the village of Arouca, at an altitude of 711 meters, and is a magnificent place to appreciate places such as the Serra da Freita and Serra de Arada mountains, the Aveiro estuary, the Paiva River and, with luck on clear days, the city of Porto.

2. Destelo da Malhada Viewpoint

The panoramic viewpoint, situated at an altitude of 1099 meters, offers breathtaking vistas stretching from the mountains to the sea.

This place is located in the Moldes region, and allows us to admire places like the Gamarão mountains, passing through the Paiva river valley, the Serra de Montemuro, the Douro valley and the mountain ranges that go from Valongo to Gerês.

3. Mizarela Viewpoints

In Mizarela, we find two interesting points: its bridge and the waterfall, which can be observed from viewpoints: Miradouro da Ponte and Miradouro da Frecha.

The surrounding landscapes include, in addition to the Serra da Freita mountain range, the Mizarela bridge built over the Caima River, the gorge, the Paiva River, and the Frecha da Mizarela waterfall, one of the largest in Portugal.
