Armamar is 13 km from Peso da Régua and is easily accessible by car. From Porto, the journey takes around 1 hour 30 minutes; from Lisbon, approximately 3 hours. Peso da Régua is connected to Porto by rail via the Douro line, and from there a shuttle bus or hire car is the most practical option.

2. When is the best time to visit this part of the Douro?

Spring (April and May) and autumn (September and October, the grape harvest season) are the most special times of year. Summer brings intense heat, making the swimming pool an absolute must. Winter has a quiet beauty, and the misty landscapes over the Douro are unforgettable.
