Along the walk, you will find 9 chapels, symbolizing some stations of the Via Crucis, with sculptures representing scenes from the Passion of Christ. Near the sixth chapel, there is a slab called "Fraga do Diabo" (Devil's Rock) where six concavities are visible. According to local tradition, these marks are interpreted as the "knees, elbows, and horns of the Devil." The story says that the Devil, while hastily escaping from Saint Peter, fell in this place and left these visible marks, thus revealing the physical structure of the evil entity. This local legend gave its name to a wine from the region, known as "Fraga do Diabo." In addition, you will find records from the pre-Roman, Roman, and medieval periods, from the history of the Douro region, and a great diversity of fauna and flora. The hike is of moderate difficulty, with some steep climbs, but the reward upon reaching the summit is worth all the effort. The wilderness itself is a place of great tranquility and spirituality, ideal for moments of reflection and contemplation.
